# Membership benefits
> Configure the perks, discounts, and exclusive access that come with a membership.
Benefits are what make a membership worth paying for. Sailia supports three benefit types — combine them freely to design your offering.
## Session discount benefits
Apply a percentage or fixed discount to specific sessions or activity types. Use this for things like:
* *20% off windsurfing lessons for members*
* *Free Friday paddleboard hire*
You choose what the discount applies to and how much. Sailia applies the benefit automatically at checkout — members never need to enter a code.
## General benefits
Free-text perks that don't change pricing but still matter to members:
* *Access to the members' lounge*
* *Priority email support*
* *Early access to event bookings*
These appear on the public membership page alongside other benefits, helping customers see the full value of joining.
## Ticket access benefits
Control which tickets members can see or book — or create member-only ticket types. Use this for:
* *Open water swim — members only*
* *Yoga drop-in: £8 for members, £12 for non-members*
You can mix public and member-only tickets on the same session, with separate pricing tiers for each.
## Managing benefits
Open a membership and use the **Benefits** section to add, edit, or remove benefits. Changes apply to every member on the membership automatically — no manual syncing.
If a membership has no benefits or no active plans, Sailia displays a reminder so you know what's missing before launch.
Session discount benefits run before any other [discount codes](/pricing/discount-codes#stacking-behavior) in the stack, so a manual code applies on top of the already-reduced member price.
