A concrete example
You run sailing courses and kayaking courses. The pre-arrival email needs to say different things — different kit, different meeting points, different briefings. Session groups make this trivial:- Create a group called Sailing courses.
- Add every sailing course to it.
- In your Course start workflow, select the Sailing courses group.
How it works
1
Create a session group
Go to Communications → Workflows and click New session group. Give it a clear name (e.g. Rentals, Kids programs, Sailing courses) and save.
2
Add courses or products to the group
From the group’s menu (the three dots), select Add to group and pick the courses or shop products you want in it.
3
Use the group in a workflow
When you create or edit a workflow, select your group from the Session group dropdown. Only bookings on items in that group fire the workflow.
Tips
- A single course or product can belong to multiple groups. Use this for layered messaging — for example, a sailing course in both Sailing courses (specialised content) and Watersports (general operational emails).
- Use All sessions in a workflow when you genuinely want every booking to fire it (e.g. a generic post-booking thank you).
- Name groups by purpose, not by what’s in them — Rentals ages better than Kayak hire and SUP hire 2025.
