Variants are configured on shop products. They work in both the POS and the online booking page.
A simple example
A T-Shirt product with:- Sizes: S, M, L
- Colours: Red, Blue
- S / Red, S / Blue
- M / Red, M / Blue
- L / Red, L / Blue
- Stock level
- SKU
- Image
- Price (optional override)
Create variants
1
Open the product
Go to Products → Shop Products and open or create the product you want to add variants to.
2
Enable stock tracking (recommended)
Turn on stock tracking so Sailia can manage availability per variant.
3
Add an option type
In the Variants section, add an option type (e.g. “Size”) and its values (S, M, L, XL).
4
Add more option types (optional)
Add a second option type like “Colour” with its own values. Sailia generates every combination automatically.
5
Configure each variant
Set stock quantities, SKUs, and (optionally) variant-specific images or prices.
Variant stock management
Each variant can have its own quantity, or be set to unlimited stock. When a variant hits zero:- Customers can’t add it to a basket online
- The POS prevents staff from overselling it
Variant images and SKUs
Per-variant images are useful when colour matters — showing the red T-shirt photo when “Red” is selected, for example. Per-variant SKUs are useful for:- Inventory and stock reporting
- Barcode workflows
- Matching variants to your accounting or fulfilment system
Selling variants at the POS
When you tap a product with variants in the POS:- A variant selector appears
- Choose size, colour, or any other option
- Add to basket
When to use variants
Use variants for anything that comes in multiple styles or sizes of the same item:- Clothing and merchandise
- Wetsuits
- Branded apparel
- Equipment in different sizes
